{Be Strong}

 Have not I commanded thee?
Be strong and of a good courage;
be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:
for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
(Joshua 1:9)

{Holiday}

Tomorrow, after work I'm boarding my BMW and heading to my parents home for the weekend! I have not seen them all together since Easter, so I really can't wait to fling my arms around them and give them all a big kiss!

I don't have anything spectacular planned... just a nice work-free (oi, did I just say that?!) weekend. Relaxing, catching up with some friends, visiting my little church and then taking the long drive back home...

But before I get too excited I'd better get my beauty sleep so I can actually arrive there!

{Beauty}

I love this quotation...

Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.”

{Editing & Encouragement}

As you may well have noticed, I'm still in the process of completing the editing of this blog... It took me many "previews" for finally find a template I liked.  There's still a few changes I'll be working on, but due to my limited knowledge of html I'm working it all out with a trial-and-error method.

However, a beautiful bloggy friend Sarah Nicole recently posted the lyrics to this song that lifted my spirits heavenward this evening and I hope you find that it will do the same to you.

I can do all things
Through Christ who gives me strength
But sometimes I wonder what He can do through me
No great sucess to show
No glory on my own
Yet in my weakness He is there to let me know
His strength is perfect when our strength is gone

He’ll carry us when we can’t carry on
Raised in His power, the weak become strong
His strength is perfect, His strength is perfect
We can only know

The power that He holds
When we truly see how deep our weakness goes
His strength in us begins
Where ours comes to an end
He hears our humble cry and proves again
His strength is perfect when our strength is gone

He’ll carry us when we can’t carry on
Raised in His power, the weak become strong
His strength is perfect, His strength is perfect.

{Household Lore}

A friend of mine, Bonnie recently lent me a book which she recently purchased.  It's a classic Australian book on household tips and recipes from the early settlers, back in the 1800's.  I love great sayings and quotations and this book has some real classics. Let me share a few with you...

{Listeners never hear an good of themselves}

{Have a place for everything and everything in it's place}
(I think this one would have been my Dad's fravourite!)

{Make hay while the sun shines}

{Where there's a will there's a way}

{Patience is the key to success}

{Always leave the table able to eat a little more}

{Honesty is the best policy}

{Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise}

{Out of debt, out of danger}

{A boy's best friend is his mother}

{Never put off what can be done today}

{If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing well}

{Love your wife if you wish her to love you}

{Avoid intemperance, as you would the fiercest tiger}

Well, I must say a few of those quotations bought back a few memories!  I remember my Dad and Mum quoting a few of them to my brother and I when we where children.

{Welcome}

Welcome, to my little corner in the big world of blogging!
I'm delighted that you've taken a moment to visit my blog!  This passing March celebrated my 4th year in the world of blogging!  After shifting my main blog, Grace & Poise to Wordpress.com in 2007, I have decided to create a more personal, day-to-day diary of the happenings and tales of my life.

 I hope you enjoy your visit to my blog and please don't hesitate to leave a comment and say "Hello"!
