{All Who are Weary: Come Home!}

Today, as I listened to the words of the beautiful and inspirational hymn, Softly & Tenderly sung by Lisa Marie Buster... The words stuck a chord in my heart: the over-whealming love that God has for each one of us...

May these words lift your thoughts heavenward... as the Lord calls you to come home...

        Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
 calling for you and for me;
 see, on the portals he's waiting and watching,
 watching for you and for me.

 Come home, come home;
 ye who are weary come home;
 earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
 calling, O sinner, come home!

        Why should we tary when Jesus is pleading,
 pleading for you and for me?
 Why should we linger and heed not his mercies,
 mercies for you and for me?
 (Refrain)

        Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
 passing from you and from me;
 shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
 coming for you and for me.
 (Refrain)

        O for the wonderful love he has promised,
 promised for you and for me!
 Though we have sinned, he has mercy and pardon,
 pardon for you and for me.

{The Power of Prayer}

"Because the life of Jesus was a life of constant trust, sustained by continual communion,
His service for heaven was without failure or faltering. Daily beset by temptation,
constantly opposed by the leaders of the people, Christ knew that He must strengthen His
humanity by prayer. In order to be a blessing to men, He must commune with God, from
Him obtaining energy, perseverance, steadfastness."
